Dental Services

HPL staff not only treats dental problems but also educates inmates on preventative oral hygiene.

HPL works with each facility to create a system that prioritizes responses to dental needs. Dental services can be provided onsite or off-site based on a facility’s size and need. Off-site dental services are contracted and managed by HPL to ensure a high standard of care. All dental treatments are accurately documented in an inmate’s health record at the facility.

All infection control and routine dental procedures are performed in a timely manner and follow community standards of practice. Extractions, dentures and any restorative dental procedures are handled according to facility policy and adhere to the American Dental Association’s clinical guidelines. HPL also maintains the inventory of all supplies, instruments and chemicals used for dental services.
