History/Mission

HPL was established in Illinois in 1995 by three physicians with a vison to provide quality, affordable, managed healthcare to inmates in a correctional environment. Today, with a growing team of more than 2,000 employees, HPL and its sister companies provide healthcare services for more than 250 facilities in 25 states.

HPL became a subsidiary of Correctional Healthcare Companies, Inc., (CHC) in March 2007, and a sister company of Correctional Healthcare Management (CHM). These companies together form CHC, a national leader in inmate healthcare management, offering comprehensive networks of correctional healthcare management products and services.

HPL's College Health division is one of the only companies throughout the country dedicated to providing healthcare to college campuses. Our expertise is primary care medical services in a specialized setting, and we leverage this knowledge to provide customized healthcare solutions in college environments. Through CHC, we currently provide healthcare services to more than 5,000 young adults. No matter who our customer, HPL is dedicated to providing the highest quality care in a cost-effective manner.
